¡@¡@The New Century Society (NCS) was established in 1999 as a non-profit making organization. In the new millennium, it has become a government registered charitable organization.
¡@¡@The mission of NCS is represented by the slogan: Sustainable Development for a Great New Century. NCS aims are:
  1. To foster the knowledge, understanding and concern of the meaning and importance of "Sustainable Development" within the community. This includes the relationship between humans and the natural environment, protection and efficient use of natural resources, as well as conservation of historical and cultural assets, and promote healthy economic development.
  2. To know, understand and be concerned about environmental, cultural and economic issues in Hong Kong, and to formulate, respectfully submit & propose solutions to the government.
  3. Since the establishment of NCS, the society has continuously been working to improve air quality, reduce wastage, waste oil recycling and environmental education. The NCS has also expressed its opinion by sending proposals to various government departments, such as the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau, Education and Manpower Bureau, Home Affairs Bureau, Housing, Planning and Lands Bureau and the Office of the Chief Executive.
